Reports by S&D members approved

S&D members Knut Fleckenstein and Iliana Malinova Iotova received unanimous approval for their reports during the parliamentary assembly today.

A presentation was made by Knut Fleckenstein and Ali Huseynli, co-rapporteurs of the Euronest PA Committee on Political Affairs, Human Rights and Democracy on their draft report on ' Challenges for the future of democracy, including the question of free and independent media in Eastern Partnership and EU countries' which was followed by a debate by the members present.

This debate was followed by a presentation by Mr Artak Zakaryan and Mrs Iliana Malinova Iotova, co-Rapporteurs of the Euronest PA Committee on Social Affairs, Education, Culture and Civil Society on their draft report on 'Strengthening of civil society in the Eastern Partnership countries, including the question of cooperation between government and civil society, and the question of the reforms aimed at empowerment of civil society.

Both S&D members' reports were adopted unanimously by the Assembly
